Sandie Jones(nee Lewis) died on 8th may 1998.she was 42.an inquest failed to conclude whether she had intended to take her own life or if it was accidental,given that she had very little medication in her system but a large amount of alcohol.
Born in Merthyr Tydfil,she had 4 sisters and one brother,who was passed away at a young age in 1991.she took his death and that of her father badly and was plagued with manic depression and alcoholism thereafter.she had made 12 previous attempts to take her own life,only this time she had written me a letter.
My mum was my best friend,i could tell her anything and she never left me with any doubt that she didnt love me or my older brother.rob was born when she was just 15 and although they loved eachother dearly they just didnt share the same bond that she and i shared.this was the reason behind her alcoholism,neither of them quite understood why and my mother was racked with guilt for not sharing the bond with him that she did for me.they were estranged when she passed away.
my mother had been a nurse and home help ,always caring for or looking after people.at 4'10 and at 5stone there was a huge heart in someone so small.losing her made me lose a part of me,but i have memories that will live in me as do my 3 children whom she doted on.atleast now she is out of pain and safe with her brother and dad,and now my brother too,i had her in life,he has her in heaven.My true guardian angels at peace R.I.P xx
